Effortless Ownership and Confidence

An MJM is designed so owners can enjoy the water with assurance and ease. From intuitive controls and thoughtful layouts to the responsiveness of the hull, the focus is on making every moment aboard feel natural and rewarding. Quality, performance, and user-friendly design reduce effort and uncertainty on the water.

Pilothouse Advantage

On the Water Confidence

Every MJM is designed to inspire confidence at the helm. The pilothouse balances protection with visibility, creating a space where control feels natural and the connection to the water remains intact. Design & Construction

Strength, Weight, and Precision

MJM's unique construction process is engineered to deliver strength, lightweight performance, and stability. Boats are built using vacuum-infused, post-cured epoxy composite construction—resulting in structures that are stronger and lighter than traditional build methods.

Timeline

The MJM Story of Innovation

MJM Yachts began with a simple idea: build boats that owners actually want to use. From the first 34z in 2004 to today's fleet, every hull has carried forward a commitment to thoughtful design, efficient performance, and the kind of quality that lasts.

2002

MJM is established

Bob Johnstone, founder of J/Boats, the world’s leading performance sailboat brand, partners with famed naval architect Doug Zurn.

2003

The First Launch: MJM 34z

The "z" stands for Zurn. The boat is revolutionary for its 3.5:1 beam ratio and epoxy construction, burning half the fuel of competitors.

2009

Downeast style meets the Ocean

The MJM 40z becomes the first 40ft Downeast style yacht to achieve ISO Category A Ocean Certification.

2014

Setting a New Standard for Stability

The company enters the large yacht market. The 50z is equipped with a Seakeeper Gyro as standard equipment—an industry-leading move at the time—cementing MJM’s reputation for stability.

2017

MJM 35z Launch (The First Outboard).

MJM embraced outboard motors and proved a Downeast style boat could efficiently 50 mph and look beautiful doing it.

2019

Moving from Boston to North Carolina

MJM announces a shift in manufacturing, moving from Boston BoatWorks to a new, private facility in Washington, North Carolina. This allows for vertical integration, faster production and better quality assurances.

2025

New Era

All MJM yachts are undergoing an interior transformation, elevating their interiors to a more yacht-inspired standard and ushering in a new era of luxury and performance.
