The MJM Yachts 43z — Next Generation Outboard Cruising Yacht
Great Lakes Scuttlebutt
MJM takes a spectacular step with the New MJM 43z to bring luxury cruising and guest entertaining comfort to the outboard world. 43z is a triple outboard version, with extended deck, of the celebrated MJM 40z – one of the most successful (87 sold) Downeast style 40-footers ever.
This proven Doug Zurn, modified deep-V hull gives MJM Yachts two strong outboard market entries with advanced epoxy composite construction, Seakeeper Gyro stability, the latest in joystick docking control, and Skyhook/DPS station-keeping. While the 40z’s Volvo Penta IPS system is tops for trouble-free control, the 43z puts MJM Yachts squarely into the shoal water markets of the ICW and beach scenes.
This new version offers greater performance in this popular style of boat with top end speed of 46 knots, powered by triple 350hp Mercury Verados. These engines are rapidly gaining fans for their advanced engineering, electronics, integrated controls, autopilot, and engine trim systems, along with their quiet running and responsive Mercury service.
43z’s estimated range at 35 knot cruise, using 90% of the 540 gallon fuel capacity, is just over 500 miles. The Seakeeper 5 gyrostabilizer option offers no-roll comfort underway or at the dock. Length On Deck (LOD) from stem to aft engine support deck is 42’ 7”. Length Over All (LOA) with engines down including anchor roller is 46’ 2”. Her shoal draft and ability to trim up the engines, means she is capable of getting into places other boats her size can only dream of.
In addition to her flush deck with easy-access side doors and Stidd piloting seats, there are also options for: powered, fully-opening front windshields; roll up Strataglass or sliding glass sides; all-weather, air-conditioned cabins and bridgedeck; and a cockpit yacht Bimini capable of remaining up at cruising speeds. 43z is unmatched in performance, classic beauty, and all-round family enjoyment.
